How we build Websites
Once you've determined what type of Website is right for you, the next step is bringing that site to life — which is where the fun starts. How does everything come together? There is design, site architecture, navigation, page content, photography, graphics, functionality demands, accessibility considerations, platform testing, hosting decisions, deadlines, the inevitable content changes, and a few things no one saw coming.
Our approach is to keep it manageable. We break it down to four easy stages...
...each of which builds on determinations from the previous stage, but allows room for flexibility. This is the cornerstone of our development process, and ensures your participation at every step along the way.

TIP: How to save money, stay on schedule, and reduce stress:
1. Know your outcome.
Before the exploration stage begins, make a 'wish list' of everything you want your site to accomplish. If you have an epiphany in the middle of the production stage, we'll handle it — but it will push back your desired launch date and add extra charges to the bill. Know your outcome before the site planning begins and you'll save gobs of money on unnecessary re-design and productions charges.
2. Have your page copy ready!
Nothing bogs down site production more than the lack of page copy or the tendency to never stop editing it. Plan to have all of your page content ready before the production stage begins. We've found that two rounds of content edits should do the trick. The first for major changes. The second for grammar, fact-checking, and minor tweaks. You can always refine the little things after the site is live. If you're completely stuck, we have professional copy writers at the ready for reasonable rates.
3. Photos and Graphics
If photographs or illustrations are required, these will also be needed before production begins. If you're supplying original photography, make sure to send it in the proper file formats. If royalty-free stock photos will be needed, you can select your own images (we'll furnish a list of trusted stock resources), or we'll do the research work which will be charged at an agreed-upon hourly rate.
Follow these simple suggestions and you'll avoid unnecessary delays and cost increases!
Stages of Development
Exploration
The exploration stage is where we prioritize exactly what you want from your web site — based on your business goals, priorities, resources, and time-to-market requirements. If necessary, together we'll review your present branding and positioning, analyze the competition and identify the most effective strategy for creating a successful online presence.
The findings from this process will allow atlantis 57 to make technology and design recommendations, and provide the blueprint for development of your project. At the close of this stage, we'll provide a "Statement of Work" document that describes mutually agreed-upon objectives, timelines and financial agreements.
Prototyping
Prototyping is where 'exploration' stage concepts begin to take shape. Design concepts will be presented. Upon final approval, actual coding and programming of the site's navigation structure, page layouts and technology requirements will be executed. In most cases, a "wire frame" of the entire site is produced to test navigation, content architecture and user functionality.
Production
The 'Production' stage is where technology meets design. The elements tested in the prototyping stage are now brought to life in full design and functionality. You will preview the site "hands-on", and together we'll go through it and make any necessary refinements. The result will be a fully functional web site built to your specifications and goals. Throughout the development process, we'll put your site through extensive testing to ensure programming code and functionality is stable across all desired platforms. Upon completion of this stage, your site to ready to launch.
Launching Your New Website
Now that your site is complete, the next step is getting it on the Web. While atlantis 57 studios offers complete web hosting services, you are free to decide where you wish your site to be hosted. If requested, we will provide complete assistance in getting your site properly integrated into a suitable hosting environment, or deliver all applicable files via email or on a CD/DVD disc.
Aftercare & Site Maintenance
Once your site is live, our relationship does not have to end there. While you have numerous site maintenance options, atlantis 57 studios is available for any updating of content, or design and technological refinements desired. If you choose to bring these tasks in-house, we'll provide initial technical assistance and guidance necessary for a smooth transition.
